Instagrams

Sorry for the crappy quality, these were taken on my phone! Just a quick post from Tuesday night's dinner in Chinatown with the girls.
Wearing my favourite Shakuhachi blazer and Cheap Monday shirt.

Can anybody guess wear my new boots are from?

WINTER INSPO

So I have been a little absent lately, studying my butt off! But I have missed blogging so much, and decided I really need to make time for it. So here is some style inspiration I've been collecting for the past few weeks in preparation for the colder seasons. Yes, in Australia, summer has been and gone. Sad face!
But, I can't wait to rug up in some chunky knits, structured coats and faux fur.

MEET BASIL: Opening Ceremony x Glamour Magazine

It's fair to say that I'm obsessed with this collaboration cat sweater by Opening Ceremony and Glamour Magazine. It is adorable and retails at only $99. Not to mention I love cats.

OUFIT UPDATE: Sunny Saturday

Last night was my mum's birthday, so we decided to all meet at the Edinburgh Garden's for a family picnic. It was quite a hot day, perfect weather for my fav shorts at the moment! I love the pattern on them and they seem to somehow go with everything. Paired them with my new Barkins chemise I picked up from Smith Street (Notice any similarities!? It's the same top as I am wearing HERE, but in black and orange. Yes I loved it that much, and it was $30 for the first item and receive the second for $5, so I hardly had a choice!)

OUTFIT UPDATE: mint meets purple

So, a while ago I was at the local shopping centre rushing around like crazy, trying to find something to wear to a friends birthday party that night. I seem to be in the habit of leaving outfit choices to the very last minute, and then when it comes time to get ready I feel I have nothing to wear! It's times like these I am thankful for the 'El Cheapo' chain stores that plague the suburbs I grew up in. Example, on this occasion I made a pitstop at Cotton On to pick up a basic tee, and was pleasantly surprised to find this sheer flowing maxi skirt crammed amongst some other pretty average looking garments, at the very back of the store. $20 dollars later I was out the door with a new, versatile (albeit poor quality) piece that can be easily dressed up or down. I often pair it with chunky statement platforms and a bright top at night time or flat sandals and a casual singlet during the day. I love that it adds an instant feminine look to whatever I'm wearing.

Simple message here, you absolutely do not need to spend a million bucks to look a million bucks! And sure, the crappy quality may well cut short the life of this garment, but by then I have no doubt I will have moved on to big and better obsessions.

OUTFIT POST: Valentines Date!

Colour Block Top - Barkins
Skull Necklace - Monserat De Lucca
Spike Necklace - Marc Jacobs

YAY!! My Jellies arrived in the mail a few days ago, I was so excited! Have been wanting a pair for ages, particularly in black. You can get them from Jelly Beans for $29! They are available in 5 different colours and shipping is super fast. Only problem is the sizing runs a little small... way too small to be honest. I recommend ordering at least one size up! after a few attempts I ordered a size 41 and they JUST fit me. If I end up ordering any other colours I will definitely go for 42's. (I'm a ladies size AU8.5, my Havaianas are a 39-40!). Either way, I love my jellies and definitely recommend these guys.

OUTFIT UPDATE

Super quick outfit post as I'm jetting out the door. My boyfriend is beginning to hate me for all these spontaneous photo shoots! Today I paired my beloved Angelina jersey with my favourite velvet skirt and some casual chelsea boots.

Had to dress it up a bit for a dinner with friends, so some red lip stick, sky high heels and a tailored jacket were just the ticket!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend despite those gloomy dark clouds hovering over Melbourne.
